About Tim Christopher: Timothy Christopher is first a musician and second a Lindy Hop instructor. His journey with jazz started with self-taught piano from YouTube and old recordings. He stumbled into dance years later while looking for a jazz jam returning to his hometown post-college. He found himself in a room full of people moving their bodies around to swing music, but there was one couple that was partner dancing! The next day he found himself in the couple’s house learning this lovely dance called the lindy hop! He very quickly became obsessed with this dance and the culture surrounding the dance. These days, you can find Tim competing, dancing, and teaching internationally! He most recently was a part of the Swing out Show in New York 2023 as well as a performance at the Lincoln Center, NYC.
About Hanna Yanello: Hanna fell hard for Lindy Hop about seven years ago, and her relationship to this dance every moment since that first encounter has been both committed and passionate. What got her hooked? First, the way Lindy Hop invites EVERY individual into honest and authentic self-expression through the dance. Second, the way Lindy Hop creates cherished opportunity to connect with so many unique humans in this incredible community! Enthusiastic about cherishing the integrity of the foundation of lindy hop and honoring the roots of the dance, Hanna is also passionate about encouraging dancers at all levels of experience to dig into the way they move and to discover their own creative expression through movement. As a teacher, Hanna loves generating thoughtful engagement, and connects with her class attendees not ONLY as teacher but also as an active learner within lindy hop. Positive reinforcement in both the classroom and social dance floor setting is incredibly important to her. Both in teaching and in her personal training, she leans hard into excellence in both movement choices and in cultivating personal creativity and connection. In attending Hana's classes, you can expect to find yourself supported in a space where you have the opportunity to 1) add to your dance vocabulary, 2) find/hone your ability to move authentically, 3) and explore adding juicy, colorful expression while staying true to good technique. She can’t wait to meet you in class!
